Traumatization is a process that includes peritraumatic and posttraumatic nervous system activation leading to significant emotional, psychological, and sometimes physical distress. Traumatization can have lasting effects on a person's mental and emotional well-being if not resolved in a timely manner, potentially influencing their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and overall quality of life.
In a neurobiological sense, traumatization is the struggle for survival.
A detail explanation on how to resolve it is included on my book Traumatization and Its Aftermath (Routledge, 2023)
